Rabbi Ruberg, Rabbi Tendler and Cantor Piltch will all teach at the annual Beth El Torah Fest Evening to open the Shavuot holiday. Shavuot marks the giving of the Torah to the Jewish people on Mt. Sinai. There is a tradition of all night study to celebrate; at Beth El, we study late into the evening hours but not beyond. This year, in addition to our normal program, we will be adding courses to our courses…drinks and beverages to whet your appetite during the first session, appetizers to satisfy your cravings for Torah during the second, and dessert (cheesecake) for the final session of the evening.
The Torah Fest schedule is as follows:
7:00 p.m. - Mincha service
7:15 p.m. - Study session #1
8:00 p.m. - Candlelighting and short break
8:15 p.m. - Study session #2
8:55 p.m. - Maariv service
9:15 p.m. - Yom Tov dinner
10:00 p.m. - Session #3 (panel) & dessert
10:45 p.m. - Chag Sameach
The Torah Fest will be the first time that the three Beth El klei kodesh (Rabbi Ruberg, Rabbi Tendler and Cantor Piltch) will all teach in one evening. We hope you will join us!
Reserve for the Torah Fest supper at a cost of $7.00 per person by calling the office.
